Getting the stalls ready |
It was not looking very promising when the heavens opened an hour before the gates opened, but at least the plants on the plant stall were well watered! |
The
crockery was all neatly arranged on the Smash-a-Plate
stall and Andrew was very keen to try out his throwing
arm before the punters arrived. |
The soft toys were cuddled up just waiting to be taken to a good home… |
The cake stall was soon doing good trade. |
This fella didnt appear to like the lime light. |
While the kitchen crew had their wares displayed temptingly inside the nursery |
The playground was busy. |
The make-over team were busy with face-painting and body decorations |

Meanwhile in the field the sea cadets were busy tying themselves in knots. |
…while others were kicking funny-shaped balls |
And in the paddock Farmer White was taking some people for a ride |
It was all in aid of a very good cause, as the Mayor of Bassett, Paul Heaphy, learned when he talked with the ladies from CALM. |
The afternoon finished with a fancy dress parade in the nursery garden |
The children had to dress up in clothes made from recycled materials and the theme was Peter Pan. There were crocodiles, Tinker Bells, some pirates… |
and a Captain Hook or two. |
Everybody won a prize, which was presented by the mayor |
And they all had a great time opening their presents afterwards |
