The Torch Relay came to Wootton Bassett on the same day that the sun finally came out, so the threes donned their hats and went along to cheer with the crowds.

Since then, Olympic Fever has been rising and over the last few weeks no stone has been left unturned in the preparations for the Event of the Year.

Indeed all stones have been carefully removed from the Olympic Park.

The sand for the long jump has been carefully graded and

The landing area for the pole vault has been levelled.

And a team of structural engineers have been testing the spectator areas………. ….to destruction

Meanwhile advance ticket sales have been very buoyant

The admissions gate is ready for the crowds on the day.

The safety team is on high alert, of course.

Unfortunately drug testing has had to be introduced to rigorously enforce the zero Calpol policy.

Meanwhile specialists have been road testing the various courses.  Including the High Beam

And the ladies downhill tandem, in all weather conditions.

 The basket ball courts

And last, but not least, we must not forget the catering team who have been working overtime to prepare the food required for an army of competitors and spectators
