The Learning Curve Olympics — a Right Royal Occasion

 

It was a fine sunny morning when the Mayor of Royal Wootton Bassett, Councillor Mike Leighfield, came to the nursery to open the second Learning Curve Olympiad. He came with the Lady Mayoress, his wife Maz and the Town Crier, Owen Collier.

Proceedings started with a procession of the competitors around the course, including representatives from Honey Street, who were hotly tipped to top the medal table at the end of the games

 

 

 

 

In case of an attack of enthusiasm by over-excited children or parents, Owen brandished his ceremonial sword

 

Competition at the games was red hot, not just among the competitors but among the crowds jostling for key viewing points and placing bets with the online bookies

 

The children loved being competitive.
